How Tourist Inn Friends For Freedom got started:
In 2005 the Tourist Inn Benefit Committee wanted to do something that would enable them to get together all year round. The idea was suggested to send things to our local fighting men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan to thank them for defending our freedom and putting their lives on the line day after day to keep our friends and families safe. The name Tourist Inn Friends For Freedom (T.I.F.F.) came from this idea.
It was then that we decided to start sending care packages to local men and women serving overseas. We obtained the name of a local soldier serving in Iraq and mailed our first care package. To date we have mailed out 376 boxes containing items such as tooth brushes, toothpaste, candy, peanuts, beef jerky, shampoo, chips, pretzels, gum, cough drops, tablets, stationary, etc. This is just a small way of saying thankyou to our service men and women, and let them know that they are not forgotten, and that we are very grateful for what they do each and every day.

| If you would like to donate items to send to the soldiers serving overseas, we're looking for non-perishable food, personal hygien products, books, magazines, etc. We are also in need of money to cover the cost of postage which can exceed $100 a month.

Due to the Flood of 2011 no boxes were sent in September and October
In November we sent 9 Boxes and 2 Banners
In January we sent 2 Boxes
In February we sent 3 Boxes
To date we have sent 392 Packages to the troops !
